Espinosa Cigars is adding a thin new size to its seasonally released Wasabi line, which is clad in a wrapper that is as green as the spicy Japanese condiment for which it’s named. The Wasabi Lancero was on display last week at the TPE tradeshow, and began shipping to retail stores on Friday.

The Wasabi Lancero has the traditional dimensions of a Lancero, 7 1/2 inches by 38 ring gauge, but it doesn’t have the flag or pigtail cap found on most lanceros, which resemble the weapons once wielded by knights. The Wasabi Lancero has a green, Honduran-grown candela cover leaf which is in marked contrast with the dark-brown Nicaragua Habano leaf that is used for the cap, creating a two-tone effect. Inside are Nicaraguan binder and fillers. Shipping in boxes of 10, the Wasabi Lancero has a suggested retail price of $9.50 each (before taxes).

Introduced in 2016, this is the third size for Wasabi, which previously had a Robusto and Corona. Like the other sizes, the Lancero is made at the La Zona factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
